Farm Day Nurseries offers a modern day nursery and pre-school situated on-site at Barleylands, Billericay, Essex.
With supervised daily visits to the animals at Barleylands Farm, the cutting edge Day Nursery & Pre-School will care for children from 6 weeks old, up to 5 years of age. Full of rich learning opportunities, take part in lots of hands-on animal experiences such as egg collecting, feeding the goats and petting the animals.
Barleylands Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School, has all natural resources, in-keeping with our ethos and also boasts easy pick up and drop off points.

Our Open Day will be returning on Saturday 11th April from 9:30am – 1:30pm. This is your opportunity to see our brand new Nursery and Pre-School, meet the team and hear all about the daily trips we take to the Barleylands farm!

Can I visit the nursery for a tour?

Absolutely — we’d love to welcome you for a visit and show you around our unique farm-based setting. We hold monthly open days on weekends, giving you the opportunity to explore the nursery and meet the team.
If you’re unable to attend an open day, we’re happy to arrange a visit Monday to Friday instead. Just email us at enquiries@barleylandsfarmdaynursery.co.uk, and we’ll be in touch to find a time that works for you.

Do you have a waiting list?

We do have limited availability and encourage families to complete a registration form to join our waiting list.
Availability is based on several factors including your child’s age, the sessions you require, and your preferred start date. Registering helps us provide accurate information on current availability.
What are your opening times?

We’re open from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, which covers our standard full-day session.
For children attending on funded hours, we offer sessions from 8:00am to 6:00pm, which allows you to use up to 10 hours of funding per day. There is also the option to extend the day with our Early Club (7:30am–8:00am) and Late Club (6:00pm–6:30pm) for an additional charge of £5 per session or £10 per day if using both.
If you choose to use your funding for a half-day session, these can be either 8:00am–1:00pm or 1:00pm–6:00pm, with the same early and late club options available if needed.

Yes! We offer funded spaces for children aged 9 months and over.

Full day: £96

Funded Sessions:
Government funding only covers part of the cost of delivering high-quality childcare, so we apply an Enrichment Fee to help cover the cost of meals, resources, and additional experiences provided throughout the day. For our Enrichment Fee 2026, please Click Here.
Do you offer term-time only places?

At this time, we do not offer term-time only sessions.
We operate 52 weeks a year, closing only on public bank holidays.

Yes, we offer the following discounts (please note: only one discount per family applies):
10% NHS Discount
10% Emergency Services Discount
10% Sibling Discount (applied to the eldest child)
Barleylands Farm Staff Members – 5% Discount for Under 3’s; 10% Discount for Over 3’s

Is there a minimum number of sessions required?

Yes, we recommend a minimum of 2 sessions per week to help children settle and make the most of their time with us.
Can I swap sessions once they are booked?

We are unable to offer session swaps.
However, if you’d like to make a permanent change to your child’s sessions, please get in touch and we’ll check availability. We also offer ad hoc sessions, depending on space in your child’s room.
Do I need to pay a deposit? How much is it and is it refundable?

Our deposit for a part-time place (up to 3 full-day sessions per week) is £150, which is refundable on your final monthly invoice. Please note that £50 of this is retained as a nonrefundable admin fee. For full-time places (more than 3 full-day sessions per week), the deposit is £200, which also includes the £50 admin fee.

At Barleylands Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School, we offer a truly unique start to your child’s early years, right here on the farm! Surrounded by fresh air, friendly animals, and open countryside, children have endless opportunities to learn, play, and grow.
Our regular farm adventures are always a favourite! Little ones love meeting and caring for the animals, helping them develop kindness, confidence, and a natural connection with the outdoors.
In our Mini Farmers Room (Pre-School), we help every child feel ready and excited for their next big step to school. Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and supported by our experienced team, children enjoy a perfect balance of structured learning and hands-on farm fun. From feeding animals and grooming ponies to planting veggies, mucking out stables, and riding tractors.
